 The Challenge

You've mastered email, your new iPhone and LinkedIn, but when did you last brush up on your social etiquette?  The last two years have brought many changes to all aspects of American Business Protocol.  We now rely heavily on relationships and networking, so your knowledge of business etiquette is essential.  How are you perceived when you walk into a room?  I hope your not a Duck, an Elephant or a Mouse.  Do you know the proper way to introduce someone, shake hands and present your business card?  Do you know how to conduct yourself during a business meeting lunch or dinner?  Knowing these skills can help you open to the door to new business or have the door close (or sometimes SLAM) in your face.

 News
This just in, it is OK to take notes using your iphone/blackberry during a meeting as long as you let the speaker know in advance.  Just be sure not to check email.  You can keep your phone on vibrate, just be sure to leave the room before you begin speaking into your phone.
